"Poverty is a political choice" an UN Rapporteur, Philip Alston, stated on 22 June, 2018. The Special Rapporteur's report says of the SDGs (sustainable development goal) that "The UN and it's member states are sleepwalking towards failure... Five years after their adoption, it is time to acknowledge that the SDGs are simply not going to be met." When elections approach, politicians conduct campaigns and also promise the public that they will be provided home surveillance, better environment cleaning measures, effective transportation, and whatnot. They basically bribe people. Most politicians make promises only for namesake and to get votes. Now, taking this into consideration, the minimum cost will range around crores. So, overall the amount/expenditure during elections (only) is beyond imagination. Henceforth, an obvious question: Why do the nation still faces destitution? Won't it be more helpful and progressive for the nation if instead...
