What is feminism?
Some people have misconception that feminism means only the rights and protests for women. Simply put, feminism is about all genders having equal rights and opportunities in every field. Throughout most of Western history, women were confined to the domestic sphere, while public life was reserved for men. Women were denied the right to study, to own property, to run a business or to participate in public life. Women were barred from most professions. Such restrictions on women still continue in some parts of the world. Issues that affect feminism are the division of domestic labour, the media, social inequality and many more. People use terms like 'you're a girl, you're not allowed to do that', 'stop crying, boys don't cry', which are completely unacceptable.
